Scales

All cadets must play scales and rudiments to progress through the level system.  The file below is a large document, but shows all scales required for all instruments.  You can find your instrument and level to see what you need to play for your level tests, or work ahead and study scales for higher levels you would like to earn.

Technical Standards

The last document on this page is huge.  It shows how all instruments will be tested in all aspects of the cadet musician levels. It will probably be pretty overwhelming, and you will be given what you need by the Band Staff, but if you want to look it up yourself it is here - from Drum Rudiments and Scale Articulations to Intonation to Band Drill to Aural skills to Conducting, and everything in between - and the marking sheet that will be used for your level testing.
